The prime function of tees is to diverge the main pipe into two opposite pipe directions placed at 90° from the main pipe. The tees are basically small-length T-shaped pipe extensions, used to change the direction of the flow by diverting the main pipe into 2 pipes. There are mainly two types of tees and straight comprises one of them, with the diameters for the diverging sections being equal to that of the main pipe. Crosses are another form of extension that are cross-shaped, that is they are useful in diverging the main pipe into 3 directions, all perpendicular to the primary pipe Therefore, the main purpose of the monel straight crosses is to branch the main pipe into 2 and 3 branches respectively, all lying at an angle of 90° from the parent pipe.
