310 stainless steel pipe fittings are made up of material consisting of 25% chromium and 20% nickel and maximum carbon up to 0.25% which results in making it highly resistant to corrosion and oxidation. Use of stainless steel 310 pipe fittings is efficient in moderately carburizing atmospheres. Stainless steel 310 pipe and stainless steel 310 pipe fittings can’t be recommended for frequent liquid quenching due to its suffering from thermal shock while processing. it is often used in cryogenic applications as it is tough and has low magnetic permeability. It is very ductile having a good weldability which enables Stainless steel 310 pipe fittings for wide usage in wide range of applications.
310S stainless steel pipe fittings contains material which is the low carbon version of stainless steel 310. It is less prone to sensitization in service and embrittlement comparatively. It has chromium 24.00-26.00%, nickel 19.00-22.00% and carbon 0.08% maximum. Both Stainless steel 310 and Stainless steel 310s are forged in the temperature range of 975 to 1050 °c. SS 310s is utilized mainly for ease of fabrication and is also corrosion resistant. Stainless steel type 310 and stainless steel type 310s are identical only the major difference is of carbon content that reduces carbide precipitation and also helps in improving weldability. Anyways it turns slightly magnetic while in cold. 310s stainless steel pipe fittings has oxidation resistance up to 2000° F having moderate strength at higher temperature. it also resists hot corrosion till an extent.
310H stainless steel pipe fittings has the material which is one of the most preferred choice for high temperature applications having great resistance to oxidation. Having chromium 24-26%, nickel 19-22% and carbon 0.040-0.10%. stainless steel 310H pipe fitting has tensile strength 515MPa, yield strength 205MPa and modulus of elasticity 200GPa. Other than stainless steel 310H pipe fittings, stainless steel 310H is also used in fans, trays, baskets, rollers, conveyor belts etc. in wide range. Preferably it is used in chemical industries and heat treatment industries.
