A tee is a particular category of pipe fittings named as such due to their T-shaped physical structure. From the various types of tees available in the market, the stainless steel lateral tee is a versatile tee with two diverging arms, one moving ahead in a uniform straight line and the other diverging away from the former arm by an angle of 45°. Therefore, the lateral tees have one straight arm attached with a lateral arm, hence, the name lateral tee. It is, therefore, very useful to diverge a particular portion of the pipe at a different angle while retaining some of the portions to travel in the same direction as before. The lateral tees hence perform two functions, connecting the two pipes and diverging one portion of the flow at an angle of 45° away from the main pipe.

As the role of titanium lateral tees involves them being connected with pipes and forming a connection between them. This means that the lateral tees operate in close proximity of the pipes and are, therefore, exposed to the potentially corrosive components within the connecting pipes. To defend themselves against the corrosion caused by such interactions is equipped with a corrosion resistance property against several forms of corrosion. The damage to the chemical stability of the alloy can not only be caused by chemical corrosion but is highly increased when they are made to function in higher temperatures.
